Desire in Motion, Painted in Color

Hi, I’m James Fly — an artist who paints emotion through form, color, and movement. My work explores the human body and spirit through abstract expression, blending vulnerability with vivid energy.

I was born and raised in New Mexico, surrounded by open skies and deep, earthy tones that shaped my sense of color and space. Over the years, I’ve gathered inspiration from every place I’ve called home — from the warmth of Puerto Rico, the quiet mountains of Colorado, the sun-soaked vibrancy of Florida, to the endless creative pulse of California. Each landscape, culture, and moment has left its mark on my art.
I like to think of myself as an old soul with a rich heart and a young perspective — grounded in feeling, but always curiously evolving. My paintings are emotional abstracts of bodies and colors, capturing what words often can’t: the raw, shifting energy of being human.
Welcome to my beautiful crazy world — where emotion meets color, and every piece tells a story.

Where Chaos Finds Its Shape

Every canvas starts as a spark — a feeling, a memory, or a heartbeat. My process isn’t about control; it’s about letting emotion move first and letting the paint follow.

I mix vulnerability with boldness, using contrast and color to explore the balance between strength and softness, order and chaos.

My work speaks in the visual language of energy — thick textures, sharp edges, and moments of stillness hidden in motion.

Each piece becomes a snapshot of emotion, frozen in color yet alive with movement.

Because in art, just like in life, the mess is what makes it real.

From Emotion to Expression

I never start with a plan — only a feeling. Each brushstroke is a reaction, a conversation between instinct and color. I layer movement upon movement until the chaos begins to speak.
Sometimes it whispers, sometimes it screams — but it always tells the truth. My studio is where emotion turns visual, where raw energy transforms into rhythm and form.
